•Kill scores, injure, kidnap many
Terrorists in army uniforms, reportedly stormed Kurutu Community, in Kachia Council of Kaduna State, killed six people, injured seven and kidnapped over 12 victims.
Women and a baby were among those kidnapped by the bandits in the attack, which occurred in the community market.
An indigene of the community, who did not want his name in print, told journalists that the community is yet to fully account for the number of people missing. The incident occurred at the village near Kateri along Abuja-Kaduna expressway.
He added: “A man said his wife was kidnapped with a baby. Immediately it happened, they called me, because I reside in Kateri. I did not waste time, I called the chief of Kachia and he said he had reported the matter to the police and army, but that none of them showed up.
When contacted on telephone for comments, the Kaduna State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Muhammed Jalige, could not respond.
Similarly, terrorists, yesterday, shot and killed four traders in Jibia Council of Katsina State.
The traders, who were from Zandam village, were going to a market close to the headquarters of the council when they ran into the terrorists.
The incident was said to have created panic among traders in the market, as a number of them reportedly closed their shops and went home.
Jibia, which is a border town with Niger Republic, is about 45 kilometres from the state capital.
The area is among councils faced by activities of terrorists, kidnappers and rustlers, with more than a dozen people killed this year during those attacks.
This is in addition to the kidnap of scores of residents, including more than 10 people, who were praying in a mosque some months ago.
The state’s Police Command Spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the incident, said the terrorists shot at five traders, but four were killed, while the remaining one sustained injuries.
Isah said the trader, who sustained injury, was immediately moved to a hospital in Katsina where medical attention was being given to him.
