He made a brief stop at the palace of the Onojie of Uromi where he met with the traditional leaders of Esan land in Edo State.
Thereafter, he had a session with the media, where he apologized to the massive supporters who gathered at the Uromi main market. He said, “I want to sincerely apologize to the people of Esan land who are waiting for me at the market. After paying my royalties and respect to the traditional rulers of Esan land, all efforts to go to the market was blocked by the crowds. The teaming crowd made it impossible for us to be there. Even after addressing them severally, I couldn’t move. So I apologize I had to run back inevitably to Benin. Let me assure you that I’m committed to the better governance of Nigeria, committed to taking back Nigeria, and giving it to the youths and women to establish our country like every other country.” He further asked his supporters to hold him responsible in delivery his promises.
It was gathered by Esan Binoculars reporters that Peter Obi had visited Auchi earlier today and was scheduled to also visit Benin City, thereby covering the three (3) senatorial districts of Edo State as part of his grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2023 general elections.
